Protocol
The Mercurius Window System (MWS) implements this model through a zero-trust, network-native protocol that governs exactly how a Portal inhabits a remote workstation. To achieve this, the underlying wire format is engineered to be:
- simple to implement
- efficient over modern networks
- robust against latency
- transport‑agnostic
- secure against DDoS and APT threats

Source Code
The reference implementation of the Mercurius Window System is stored in git. This repository tracks the evolution of the protocol and contains the working implementation used to validate the RFC.
